ASL Interpreting Staffed for the Setting, Not Just the Language
RID Certification, Not a Court Registry
ASL interpreters are credentialed through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, so a state court interpreter list will not tell you whether someone is qualified. We confirm the certification that matches the setting before the assignment is booked.
Team Interpreting for Long Assignments
Signing is physically sustained work and accuracy falls off after roughly twenty minutes alone. Depositions, full-day trainings and conferences are staffed with two interpreters who switch, which is standard practice rather than an upcharge decision made on the day.
Certified Deaf Interpreters Where Needed
Some deaf individuals use regional signs, home sign or limited formal ASL, and a hearing interpreter alone will not reach them. A Certified Deaf Interpreter works alongside the hearing interpreter. We raise this at intake rather than discovering it once testimony has started.
